George Radoj\u010di\u010d se narodil do um\u011bleck\u00e9 rodiny 28. b\u0159ezna 1987 v Sarajevu, jako prvorozen\u00fd syn \u010desk\u00e9 here\u010dky Jany Radoj\u010di\u010dov\u00e9 (roz.Kulendov\u00e9) a bosensk\u00e9ho re\u017eis\u00e9ra a sc\u00e9n\u00e1risty Bora Radoj\u010di\u010de. George se narodil s ment\u00e1ln\u00edm handicapem. Ve \u010dty\u0159ech letech se u n\u011bho projevily z\u00e1chvaty epilepsie, nemoc mu za\u010dala ni\u010dit rozv\u00edjej\u00edc\u00ed se mozek. Byla mu diagnostikov\u00e1na vz\u00e1cn\u00e1 forma epilepsie \u2013 Landau-Kleffner\u016fv syndrom, tak\u017ee po zbytek \u017eivota mus\u00ed b\u00fdt pod dohledem dosp\u011bl\u00e9 osoby. Narodil se ov\u0161em i s mimo\u0159\u00e1dn\u00fdm v\u00fdtvarn\u00fdm talentem. Od ran\u00e9ho d\u011btstv\u00ed d\u00e1val p\u0159ednost kreslen\u00ed a malov\u00e1n\u00ed p\u0159ed hrou s jin\u00fdmi d\u011btmi, ale i p\u0159ed j\u00eddlem \u010di odpo\u010dinkem. Dokreslit \u010di domalovat obr\u00e1zek st\u00e1lo v\u017edy na prvn\u00edm m\u00edst\u011b. Kr\u00e1tce po Georgov\u011b narozen\u00ed se rodina p\u0159est\u011bhovala z v\u00e1lkou su\u017eovan\u00e9 Jugosl\u00e1vie do Janina rodn\u00e9ho \u010ceskoslovenska. Prvn\u00ed Georgovy kresby v p\u0159ed\u0161koln\u00edm v\u011bku byly ovlivn\u011bny kulisami Prahy a pobytem u p\u0159\u00edbuzn\u00fdch na \u0160luknovsku. Ud\u00e1losti v b\u00fdval\u00e9 Jugosl\u00e1vii zanechaly siln\u00e9 stopy v citliv\u00e9m vn\u00edm\u00e1n\u00ed Gerge, v jeho tvorb\u011b se \u010dasto objevuje t\u00e9ma v\u00e1lky, boj dobra a zla\u2026<\/p>\n

Z\u00e1kladn\u00ed vzd\u011bl\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed v Praze pro\u017e\u00edval George zpo\u010d\u00e1tku velmi bolestn\u011b. Pro svou specifickou povahu si za\u017eil nepochopen\u00ed, \u0161ikanu a t\u00fdr\u00e1n\u00ed od spolu\u017e\u00e1k\u016f i u\u010ditel\u016f, co\u017e mu hned v prvn\u00ed t\u0159\u00edd\u011b p\u0159ivodilo \u010d\u00e1ste\u010dn\u00e9 ochrnut\u00ed. Vyst\u0159\u00eddal t\u0159i r\u016fzn\u00e9 \u0161koly, ne\u017e kone\u010dn\u011b ve 3. t\u0159\u00edd\u011b na\u0161el z\u00e1zem\u00ed v C\u00edrkevn\u00ed \u0161kole sester Vor\u0161ilek, kam nastoupili<\/p>\n

i jeho mlad\u0161\u00ed bratr a sestra. Jeho spont\u00e1nn\u00ed povaha a p\u0159\u00edm\u00e9, bezprost\u0159edn\u00ed jedn\u00e1n\u00ed se zde setkaly s pochopen\u00edm u\u010ditel\u016f, byl p\u0159ijat i spolu\u017e\u00e1ky. Georgovi v letech 1997 \u2013 2003 uspo\u0159\u00e1dali n\u011bkolik \u0161koln\u00edch v\u00fdstav v Galerii na schodech. Potkal zde sv\u00e9ho asistenta, pak dlouholet\u00e9ho p\u0159\u00edtele Stefana Berece, kter\u00fd se mu citliv\u011b v\u011bnoval, pom\u00e1hal mu s tvorbou i vzd\u011bl\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00edm. Sezn\u00e1mil ho mj. s d\u00edlem Karla \u010capka, kter\u00e9ho si George zamiloval. \u010capek Georgovi u\u010daroval vn\u00edm\u00e1n\u00edm dobra a zla, vnit\u0159n\u00ed mor\u00e1ln\u00ed s\u00edlou a soucitem s lidsk\u00fdm utrpen\u00edm. Pozd\u011bji George vytvo\u0159il pozoruhodnou rozs\u00e1hlou s\u00e9rii ilustrac\u00ed k \u010capkovu d\u00edlu. V jeden\u00e1cti letech do\u0161lo u Georga ke zhor\u0161en\u00ed kognitivn\u00edch funkc\u00ed a del\u0161\u00ed dobu byl hospitalizov\u00e1n na motolsk\u00e9 neurologii v Praze. P\u0159es v\u0161echny \u00fatrapy, si v\u0161ak i d\u00edky v\u00ed\u0159e uchoval pozitivn\u00ed pohled na \u017eivot, sna\u017eil se odpou\u0161t\u011bt a ch\u00e1pat. Tento p\u0159\u00edstup k \u017eivotu je rovn\u011b\u017e siln\u011b zastoupen v jeho obrazech. Po skon\u010den\u00ed ob\u010dansk\u00e9 v\u00e1lky v b\u00fdval\u00e9 Jugosl\u00e1vii rodina znovu za\u010dala v letn\u00edch m\u011bs\u00edc\u00edch jezdit do chorvatsk\u00e9 Murvice na ostrov\u011b Bra\u010d. Zde vznikly prvn\u00ed tematicky ucelen\u00e9 soubory barevn\u00fdch kreseb a maleb mo\u0159e, krajiny, vesnic. George nikdy slo\u017eit\u011b nehledal inspiraci, vysta\u010dil si s t\u00edm, co vid\u011bl kolem sebe, s t\u00e9maty b\u011b\u017en\u00e9ho \u017eivota, \u010di virtu\u00e1ln\u00edm sv\u011btem masm\u00e9di\u00ed nebo po\u010d\u00edta\u010dov\u00fdch her. Maloval sv\u00e9 bl\u00edzk\u00e9, ale i postavy liter\u00e1rn\u00ed, \u010di historick\u00e9, osobnosti ze sv\u011bta politiky, biblick\u00e9 v\u00fdjevy, postavy sv\u011btc\u016f, d\u00e9mon\u016f, and\u011bl\u016f i modl\u00edc\u00edch se postav. Sv\u011bt v jeho pod\u00e1n\u00ed je harmonick\u00fd i n\u00e1siln\u00fd, fascinuj\u00edc\u00ed i v\u0161edn\u00ed a\u017e lapid\u00e1rn\u00ed. Nikdy v\u0161ak nudn\u00fd.<\/p>\n

V \u010dervnu 2004 ukon\u010dil George povinnou \u0161koln\u00ed doch\u00e1zku a tento zlom v jeho \u017eivot\u011b prov\u00e1zela prvn\u00ed velk\u00e1 v\u00fdstava talentovan\u00e9ho mlad\u00edka mimo \u0161kolu, v presti\u017en\u00ed galerii \u201eNov\u00e1 s\u00ed\u0148\u201c ve Vor\u0161ilsk\u00e9 ulici v Praze. Sedmn\u00e1ctilet\u00fd George byl n\u00e1sledn\u011b neform\u00e1ln\u011b, bez n\u00e1roku na diplom, p\u0159ijat na pra\u017eskou v\u00fdtvarnou akademii do grafick\u00e9ho ateli\u00e9ru Doc. Ji\u0159\u00edho Lindovsk\u00e9ho. Zde jeho talent nalezl docen\u011bn\u00ed, narostlo mu sebev\u011bdom\u00ed, byl obdivov\u00e1n a chr\u00e1n\u011bn, u\u010dil se nov\u00fdm v\u00fdtvarn\u00fdm postup\u016fm. Z\u00e1rove\u0148 v\u0161ak rostlo nap\u011bt\u00ed, n\u011bkte\u0159\u00ed si kladli ot\u00e1zku, jak je mo\u017en\u00e9, \u017ee ten, kdo neum\u00ed po\u0159\u00e1dn\u011b ps\u00e1t, \u010d\u00edst, po\u010d\u00edtat, \u010di dosp\u011ble myslet, m\u00e1 v\u00fdtvarn\u00fd dar? Pak do\u0161lo ke st\u0159etu se spolu\u017e\u00e1kem a George u\u017e nemohl b\u00fdt ponech\u00e1n bez dozoru. Od t\u00e9 doby ho musela do ateli\u00e9r\u016f akademie v\u017edy doprov\u00e1zet matka. To se postupn\u011b st\u00e1valo \u010dasov\u011b ne\u00fanosn\u00e9. Rodina se v t\u00e9 dob\u011b st\u011bhovala na okraj Prahy do Slivence, do domu se zahradou. P\u0159i p\u0159estavb\u011b vybudovali Georgovi pokoj \u2013 ateli\u00e9r. George ode\u0161el z AVU a za\u010dal pracovat doma. Limitov\u00e1n nemoc\u00ed z\u016fstal odk\u00e1z\u00e1n na pomoc matky – pom\u00e1hala mu nap\u00ednat pl\u00e1tna, \u0161epsovat, o\u0159ez\u00e1vat tu\u017eky, u\u010dila ho p\u0159ekon\u00e1vat handicap, bojovat a neztr\u00e1cet nad\u011bji. V roce 2010 za\u010dal George chodit do praktick\u00e9 \u0161koly pro handicapovan\u00e9 \u017e\u00e1ky. Byl \u0161\u0165astn\u00fd, \u017ee m\u016f\u017ee sportovat, opakoval si \u010dten\u00ed, psan\u00ed, matematiku, chodil na v\u00fdlety do p\u0159\u00edrody a nad\u00e1le tvo\u0159il. V roce 2013 m\u011bl \u00fasp\u011b\u0161nou autorskou v\u00fdstavu \u201eGeorgovy zahrady a jin\u00e9\u201c v galerii Artinbox v centru Prahy, n\u00e1sledn\u011b se za galerii \u00fa\u010dastnil i prohl\u00eddek um\u011bn\u00ed Art Prague v Kafkov\u011b dom\u011b v Praze. Odm\u011bnou mu byla cesta do \u0158\u00edma a Asissi, pot\u00e9 poprv\u00e9 v \u017eivot\u011b let letadlem – do Lurd. N\u00e1sledovalo n\u011bkolik men\u0161\u00edch autorsk\u00fdch a skupinov\u00fdch v\u00fdstav. George se stal kmenov\u00fdm autorem galerie Artinbox, na ja\u0159e 2015 zde m\u011bl druhou samostatnou v\u00fdstavu pod n\u00e1zvem \u201eP\u0159\u00edb\u011bhy\u201c. Varianta t\u00e9to v\u00fdstavy s d\u016frazem na duchovn\u00ed t\u00e9mata byla za\u010d\u00e1tkem l\u00e9ta 2015 vystavena na ochozu kostela sv. Ign\u00e1ce v r\u00e1mci Dn\u016f v\u00edry. V tomto kostele za\u010dal George ka\u017edou ned\u011bli ministrovat. V roce 2015 a 2016 bylo v postn\u00ed dob\u011b v Du\u0161i\u010dkov\u00e9 kapli kostela sv. Ign\u00e1ce vystaveno Georgovo pl\u00e1tno \u201ePoku\u0161en\u00ed Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161e na pou\u0161ti\u201c – u farn\u00edk\u016f tak ve\u0161lo do pov\u011bdom\u00ed, \u017ee jejich ministrant, m\u00e1 \u201edar\u201c. George rovn\u011b\u017e za\u010dal pravideln\u011b vystavovat ve sliveneck\u00e9m kostel\u00ed\u010dku V\u0161ech Svat\u00fdch v r\u00e1mci \u201eNoci kostel\u016f\u201c, a nach\u00e1zel si tak dal\u0161\u00ed p\u0159\u00e1tele. Kdy\u017e jde na proch\u00e1zku se psem, lid\u00e9 ho na ulici zdrav\u00ed, pov\u00eddaj\u00ed si s n\u00edm, zvou ho na \u010daj, \u010di do kina. To je pro Georga moc d\u016fle\u017eit\u00e9, u\u017e nen\u00ed \u201ebezejmenn\u00fdm bl\u00e1znem\u201c. Tvorba tak Georgovi p\u0159inesla nejen radost z tvo\u0159en\u00ed, ale n\u00e1sledn\u011b i plnopr\u00e1vn\u00e9 p\u0159ijet\u00ed do spole\u010denstv\u00ed. Jeho obrazy p\u0159in\u00e1\u0161ej\u00ed radost a nad\u011bji n\u00e1m.<\/p>\n

George Radoj\u0107i\u0107 was born into an artistic family on March 28, 1987 in Sarajevo, as the firstborn son of Czech actress Jana Radoj\u0107i\u0107ov\u00e1 (n\u00e9e Kulendov\u00e1) and Bosnian director and screenwriter Bora Radoj\u0107i\u0107. George was born with a mental handicap. At the age of four, he started having epileptic seizures, and the illness began to destroy the developing brain. He was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy \u2013 Landau-Kleffner syndrome, so for the rest of his life he must be under adult supervision. However, he was also born with an extraordinary artistic talent. From early childhood he preferred drawing and painting not only to playing with other children, but also to eating or relaxing. Finishing drawing or painting a picture always came first. Shortly after George\u2019s birth the family moved from the war-torn Yugoslavia to Jana\u2019s native Czechoslovakia. George\u2019s first preschool age drawings were influenced by the Prague scenery and a stay with his relatives in the \u0160luknovsko region. The events in the former Yugoslavia left significant traces in George\u2019s sensitive <\/em><\/p>\n

perception; in his work the theme of war or the struggle between good and evil often reoccurs…<\/em><\/p>\n

Elementary education in Prague was initially a very painful experience for George. Because of his specific nature he experienced misunderstanding, harassment and bullying from classmates and teachers, which <\/em><\/p>\n

in the first class brought on his partial paralysis. He had changed schools three times before he finally found a haven in the third class at the Church School of Ursuline Sisters, which his younger brother and sister joined as well. His spontaneous nature and direct, immediate behaviour were here met with understanding from the teachers, and his classmates accepted him, too. Between 1997 and 2003, they organized several school exhibitions for George at the Gallery on the Stairs. Here he met his assistant and then a long-time friend <\/em><\/p>\n

Stefan Berec, who took sensitive care of him, helped him with his work and education. He introduced him to, among other things, the work of Karel \u010capek, with whom George fell in love. \u010capek captivated George with his perception of good and evil, inner moral strength and compassion for human suffering. Later George created a remarkable extensive series of illustrations for \u010capek\u2019s work. At the age of eleven, George incurred deteriorating of cognitive functions and was for a longer time hospitalized at the Neurology Department of Motol Hospital in Prague. Despite all the hardship, he with faith still kept a positive outlook on life, trying to forgive and understand. This approach to life is also heavily represented in his paintings. After the end of the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, the family started again to travel in the summer to Croatian Murvica on the island of Bra\u010d. Here originated the first thematically compact series of colour drawings and paintings of the sea, countryside and villages. George never looked for inspiration intricately, he made do with what he saw around him, with themes of everyday life, or the virtual world of the mass media or computer games. He painted his loved ones, but also literary or historic figures, personalities from the world of politics, biblical scenes, figures of saints, demons, angels, and praying figures. In his interpretation the world is both harmonious and violent, fascinating and mundane, or even lapidary. But never boring.<\/em><\/p>\n

In June 2004, George completed compulsory schooling and this turning point in his life was accompanied by the first major exhibition of the talented young man out of school, at the prestigious gallery \u201cNew Hall\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

in Vor\u0161ilsk\u00e1 street in Prague. The seventeen year-old George was subsequently informally, without the right to a diploma, accepted to the Prague Art Academy in the graphic studio of Doc. George Lindovsk\u00fd. Here his <\/em><\/p>\n

talent found appreciation, his confidence grew, he was admired and protected, learning new art techniques. Yet, the tension was rising and some wondered how it was possible that one who could not properly write, read, count, or think maturely, had a creative gift. Then there was a conflict with a classmate and George could not be left unattended. Since then he always had to go to the studios of the Academy accompanied by his mother. This gradually became too time demanding. At that time, the family moved to the outskirts of Prague in Slivenec, to a house with a garden. During reconstruction they built a room for George \u2013 a studio. George left the Academy and began working at home. Limited by the illness he remained dependent on the help of his mother \u2013 she helped him stretch canvases and coat them, crop pencils, taught him to overcome the handicap, fight and not lose hope. In 2010, George began to go to a vocational school for disabled pupils. He was happy that he could do sports, repeat reading, writing and mathematics, he went on trips and kept working. In 2013, he had a successful solo exhibition \u201cGeorge\u2019s Gardens and More\u201d at the Artinbox gallery in the centre of Prague, then he, represented by the gallery, participated in the art festival Art Prague in Kafka House in Prague. His reward was a trip to Rome and Assisi, and then the first time ever airplane flight \u2013 to Lourdes. Several smaller solo and group exhibitions followed.<\/em><\/p>\n

George became permanently represented by the Artinbox gallery, and in spring 2015 his second solo exhibition entitled \u201cStories\u201d was held here. A variant of this exhibition with an emphasis on spiritual subjects was shown in early summer of 2015 in the ambulatory of St. Ignatius Church during the Days of Faith. In this church George is now a ministrant every Sunday. In 2015 and 2016 during Lent, George\u2019s canvas \u201cThe Temptation of Jesus in the Wilderness\u201d was exhibited in the Chapel of All Souls at St. Ignatius Church \u2013 the parishioners thus became aware that their ministrant has a \u201cgift\u201d. George also began to exhibit regularly in Slivenec\u2019s Church of All Saints during the \u201cChurch Nights\u201d, and this way found more friends. When going for a walk with his dog, people on the street say hi, talk to him, invite him to tea, or to the cinema. It is very important to George, he is no longer a \u201cnameless fool\u201d. Artistic work has thus brought George not only joy of creating, but subsequently also fully-fledged acceptance into the community. His paintings bring joy and hope to us.<\/em><\/p>\n
