Fotografka Helena Lukas (*1950, Praha) pova\u017euje za sv\u016fj domov Prahu, New York i \u0158\u00edm. Z t\u011bchto a mnoha dal\u0161\u00edch m\u00edst poch\u00e1zej\u00ed sn\u00edmky pln\u00e9 barev, pohybu a poezie. V\u00fdstava p\u0159edstav\u00ed fotografie, z posledn\u00edch let autor\u010diny tvorby.<\/p>\n

Helena Lukas m\u00e1 fotografii v genech a pod k\u016f\u017e\u00ed. Vyr\u016fstala obklopena fotografiemi sv\u00e9ho otce, legend\u00e1rn\u00edho fotografa Jana Lukase. Pom\u00e1hala mu v temn\u00e9 komo\u0159e i p\u0159i sestavov\u00e1n\u00ed fotografick\u00fdch knih. Prov\u00e1zela ho na jeho cest\u011b z \u010ceskoslovenska p\u0159es It\u00e1lii do USA. Dnes spolu se sestrou spravuj\u00ed jeho rozs\u00e1hlou poz\u016fstalost.<\/p>\n

Nejnov\u011bj\u0161\u00ed tvorba Heleny Lukas se ov\u0161em od d\u00edla jej\u00edho otce li\u0161\u00ed (i kdy\u017e v pozad\u00ed bychom jist\u011b na\u0161li r\u016fzn\u00e9 spojitosti). Jej\u00ed sn\u00edmky jsou barevn\u00e9, po\u0159\u00edzen\u00e9 digit\u00e1ln\u00edm fotoapar\u00e1tem. Autorka \u010dasto zabrous\u00ed a\u017e k malb\u011b sv\u011btlem. Jinde se zas p\u0159ibl\u00ed\u017e\u00ed k barevn\u00e9 dokument\u00e1rn\u00ed fotografii, ov\u0161em v\u017edy se siln\u00fdm citem pro v\u00fdtvarnou str\u00e1nku – co do barev a kompozice. P\u0159\u00edstup k fotografovan\u00fdm subjekt\u016fm je zv\u00eddav\u011b \u017eensk\u00fd, \u010dasto emotivn\u00ed \u010di nostalgick\u00fd.<\/p>\n

V souboru Z cesty, kter\u00fd p\u0159edstavujeme v Artinbox Gallery, Helena Lukas skrz vizualitu z\u00e1b\u011br\u016f z r\u016fzn\u00fdch kout\u016f sv\u011bta, v druh\u00e9m pl\u00e1nu vypr\u00e1v\u00ed p\u0159\u00edb\u011bh o hled\u00e1n\u00ed mapy \u017eivota – o sm\u011bru a smyslu toho odkud jdeme, pro\u010d a kam sm\u011b\u0159ujeme.
\nFotografie byly po\u0159\u00edzeny v \u0158\u00edm\u011b, Praze, New Yorku, Istanbulu, Ben\u00e1tk\u00e1ch \u010di Kataru, nebo z ok\u00fdnka letadla \u010di vlaku, nebo ze sedadla motorky. Zachycuj\u00ed hlu\u010dn\u00fd pohyb velkom\u011bst i tich\u00e1 m\u00edsta v m\u00edhaj\u00edc\u00ed se krajin\u011b. Vid\u00edme lidi, \u010di jen siluety postav, ale stejn\u011b v\u00fdmluvn\u00e9 jsou i stromy, nebe, okna, domy jako ti\u0161\u00ed sv\u011bdci v\u0161eho kolem.<\/p>\n

V\u00fdstava je jak\u00fdmsi vizu\u00e1ln\u00edm den\u00edkov\u00fdm z\u00e1znamem vnit\u0159n\u00edho sv\u011bta autorky, kter\u00fd z\u016fst\u00e1v\u00e1 po\u0159\u00e1d stejn\u00fd, i kdy\u017e se kulisy sv\u011bta vn\u011bj\u0161\u00edho po\u0159\u00e1d m\u011bn\u00ed. Skrz tento pohled je se z\u00e1ludnou ot\u00e1zkou: \u201eQuo vadis?\u201c konfrontov\u00e1n i div\u00e1k.<\/p>\n

Helena Lukas – curriculum vitae<\/p>\n

1950 Helena Lukas se narodila v r. 1950 v Praze jako druh\u00e1 dcera tane\u010dnice Mileny Lukasov\u00e9 a fotografa Jana Lukase. Helena chodila p\u016fvodn\u011b do baletn\u00ed \u0161koly, pot\u00e9 se dostala i k divadlu, a to d\u00edky otci, kter\u00fd byl dvorn\u00edm fotografem v divadle Semafor. V 60. letech se stala jednou prvn\u00edch d\u011btsk\u00fdch hv\u011bzd tohoto divadla. S Ji\u0159\u00edm Such\u00fdm zp\u00edvala ve h\u0159e \u201eTakov\u00e1 ztr\u00e1ta krve\u201c legend\u00e1rn\u00ed Slun\u00ed\u010dko.<\/p>\n

1990 – 2004 \u017dije ve State College, Pennsylvania. Studuje a pracuje na Pennsylvania State University.<\/p>\n

1998 – 1999 Fotografuje v Praze v r\u00e1mci Fulbright stipendia.<\/p>\n

2004 \u2013 2015 \u017dije mezi New Yorkem, Prahou a \u0158\u00edmem. Fotografuje a vyu\u010duje fotografii na Pantheon Institute v \u0158\u00edm\u011b. M\u00e1 \u010dty\u0159i d\u011bti a \u010dty\u0159i vnou\u010data.<\/p>\n

The photographer Helena Lukas (*1950, Prague) considers her homes to be Prague, New York and Rome\u2026 from these places and many more come pictures full of color, movement and poetry. The exhibition presents photographs from the last ten years
\nof author\u2019s work.
\nHelena Lukas has photography in her genes and under the skin. She grew up surrounded by photographs of her father, the legendary Jan Lukas. She helped him in the darkroom and in the compilation of photographic books. She accompanied him on his journey from Czechoslovakia via Italy to the USA. Today, together with her sister she manages his\u00a0photographic\u00a0archive.<\/p>\n

The latest creations of Helena Lukas, however, are differ from her father\u2019s (even if in the background, we find a variety of connections). Her images are in color, taken with a digital camera. Often she\u00a0is close\u00a0to the painting with light. Elsewhere again she is closer to color documentary photography, but always with a strong flair for the artistic side in terms of color and composition. Her approach to the photographic subject is\u00a0 perceptively\u00a0feminine, often emotional or nostalgic.<\/p>\n

In the series\u00a0\u201cIn Transit\u201d\u00a0\u00a0exhibited in the Artinbox Gallery, Helena Lukas through her visuality\u00a0brings us into\u00a0different corners of the world,\u00a0and\u00a0on another level\u00a0she tells a story about the search for maps of life – about the direction and sense of where we come from, why, and where we are going.<\/p>\n

The photos were taken in Rome, Prague, New York, Istanbul, Venice or Qatar, from the windows of planes or trains, or from the seat of a bike. They capture the movement of noisy cities and quiet places in the flickering landscape. We see people, or just silhouettes of figures, but equally profound are trees, sky, windows, houses that exist as silent witnesses all around.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is a kind of visual diary recording the inner world of the artist, who always remains the same, even as the scenery of the external world keeps changing.\u00a0 While seeing this exhibition,\u00a0a persistent question: \u201cQuo Vadis?\u201d confronts the viewers and brings them along on a journey the photographer has traveled.<\/p>\n
