B\u00e1lkov\u00e1 is an artist and a photographer. She works with mixed media, combining classical elements of paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations with new media. She studied New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague in the studios of Ji\u0159\u00ed David and Veronika Bromov\u00e1, where she graduated in 2006. In her work she deals with human identity and its transformations, often focusing on female experience in particular. In 2005, B\u00e1lkov\u00e1 was awarded the bi-annual award for art students. Her work was featured at Praguebiennale 3 in 2007, Praguebiennale 4 in 2009, Prague Photo in 2009 and many group exhibitions, including The Intimate Circle in Contemporary Czech Photography in 2013 in Prague City Gallery (GHMP).<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Barbora Balek je \u010desk\u00e1 um\u011blkyn\u011b a fotografka. \u010casto m\u00eds\u00ed r\u016fzn\u00e1 m\u00e9dia a kombinuje tradi\u010dn\u00ed elementy malby, fotografie, sochy a instalace s nov\u00fdmi m\u00e9dii. Studovala Nov\u00e1 m\u00e9dia na Akademii v\u00fdtvarn\u00fdch um\u011bn\u00ed v Praze v ateli\u00e9rech Ji\u0159\u00edho Davida a Veroniky Bromov\u00e9, kde v roce 2006 studia dovr\u0161ila. Ve sv\u00e9 tvorb\u011b se zab\u00fdv\u00e1 lidskou identitou a jej\u00edmi prom\u011bnami, \u010dasto se zam\u011b\u0159en\u00edm na \u017eenskou zku\u0161enost. V roce 2005 Balek dostala Essl Award, ud\u011blovanou obrok studuj\u00edc\u00edm um\u011bleck\u00fdch \u0161kol. Jej\u00ed d\u00edla byla vystavena na Praguebiennale 3 v roce 2007, Praguebiennale 4 v roce 2009, Prague Photo t\u00e9\u017ee roku a na mnoha skupinov\u00fdch v\u00fdstav\u00e1ch, v\u010detn\u011b v\u00fdstavy Vnit\u0159n\u00ed okruh v sou\u010dasn\u00e9 \u010desk\u00e9 fotografii <\/em>v Galerii hlavn\u00edho m\u011bsta Prahy. <\/p>
